Local Derby Racing South Side v South Side Adults

Racing South Side 4 – 2 South Side Adults

South side v racing 007

Last season these two teams were part of the same Club South Side Fc

Unfortunatley the club down sized and Racing South Side went out on their own so today was a bit of a local derby from two teams who once played for the same club.

Racing started the game well with a goal in the first ten minutes. Then the game became more steady with a good battle in the midfield. Racing went on to score two more goals to take first half lead of 3-0 Second half was much different with South Side coming out & scoring a goal on the break from a Racing corner, it was a bit nip and took with both sides making chances untill Racing scored off a corner & South Side hit back with a goal. To make the games final score 4-2 Over all a very good game from both teams.

Racing South Side came out on top of what proved to be an intense derby affair at Holders Lane. Missing 7 key players South Side Adults managed to muster up a team that battled throughout but were ultimately outplayed for the first    60 minutes. Racing South Side showed their dominance and on home soil racing into a two goal lead before adding a third just before half time. While half time proved to be a chance to rouse themselves South Side Adults came out the stronger in the second half but were caught on the counter attack and Racing added a fourth effectively putting the game to bed. However South side Adults were not to be rolled over and battled to gain a foothold back into the match grabbing not just one back with a goal from Nathan Hayes but also a second thanks to an own goal.

With 15 minutes remaining South Side Adults battled well however to no avail and Racing South Side proved victorious to gain a well earned 3 points.
